Curriculum

At Martock Primary School, we want our pupils to experience success through an exciting and cohesive curriculum. Our curriculum aims to provide engaging opportunities both in and out of school. The curriculum is organised so that children know more and remember more, through building blocks of knowledge and skills.

Where appropriate we ensure that cross curricular links are made (e.g. within topics) to enhance learning and make it relevant to children's interest and experiences.  We ensure the children have a range of learning experiences that challenge, stimulate and promote thinking and learning.  The curriculum, including core skills in Literacy and Numeracy, meets all statutory requirements.  It is designed to enthuse our children with a love of learning.

We strive to provide a curriculum which has a variety of enrichment activities that are integrated into the curriculum plans for each year group throughout the school year, both in and out of the classroom environment.

We are will aware that all children need the support of parents and teachers to make good progress in school.  We build positive links with the parents and carers of each child, by regularly keeping them informed about the way in which the children are being taught and how well each child is progressing.

Please see our Curriculum Policy.

Opting out of Religious Education

At Martock Primary School, we believe in fostering an inclusive environment where every child's beliefs and values are respected. We understand that some parents may wish to withdraw their child from Religious Education (RE) lessons. If you would like to opt your child out of the RE curriculum, please contact the school office on 01935 823486, and we will provide further guidance on how to proceed.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out to your class teacher or Mrs Lafferty-Jenkins for more information.

Remote Learning

When we aren't able to offer face to face teaching, we offer remote learning through our Google Classrooms platform. Each child has their own unique login to access learning materials. We will also choose to add links to our class pages for additional information.

Children who are unable to attend school for medical reasons may be offered alternative provision. Please see our supporting medical needs policy.
