Homework

Homework will be set on a Friday and be due in on the following Friday. The children will be given CGP workbooks; SPaG, Reading Comprehension and Maths. There will be set pages for them to complete each week from one or two of the books but never all three in the same week.

The children also need to read 4 times a week at home and record this in their reading planner. Although many of the children prefer to read to themselves at this age, it is still important for them to read aloud to an adult when possible and have the opportunity to discuss the book and any new vocabulary they may have come across.

Maths

We will be following the Hamilton Trust scheme of work for maths. Within each lesson the children are given the opportunity to consolidate their understanding through fluency practice and problem solving and reasoning activities.
