School Uniform

Children wear our school uniform every school day.  It is part of the school's identity and promotes collaboration, unity, safety, pride and a good learning atmosphere.  All our uniform is available from the National Schoolwear Centre in Vine Street, Yeovil. Non- branded items are widely available at a reasonable cost, from many supermarkets.

Martock Primary Uniform

Bottle green sweatshirt, pullover or cardigan (black in Year 6)

Grey or black school trousers (short or long)

Grey skirt or pinafore dress

White shirt or polo shirt (with collar)

Dark brown or black shoes (not trainers or daps)

Plain brown, black, grey, blue sandals may be worn and must have a heel strap and must be worn with socks

Socks should be black, grey, white or green

If wearing tights they must be grey, green or black

Summer dresses are green/white check or gingham

Hair bands and hair ties should be muted colours (bottle green, navy, brown, black) and a small subtle size (no big colourful or glittery bows please!) 

PE Kit:

PE Kit is to be worn - Round neck plain white T-shirt

(house colour t-shirt Red (Olive House), Blue (Vine House) Yellow (Palm House) or Green (Sycamore House) for events such as sports day or intra house competitions

Black shorts, trainers or daps, warm clothes e.g. joggers for winter season- plain black

Safe PE shoes outside, bare feet inside

No cardigans inside

No long trousers or jogging bottoms are needed inside.  When using apparatus these are dangerous.

No jewellery - earrings to be taken out or covered with a plaster

Long hair should be tied back

No tights for PE lessons, children need socks if their trainers are likely to rub

We do not allow:

Jewellery (other than a watch or small single stud earrings)

Dramatic hair dyes 

Inappropriate hair-cuts (eg Mohicans or shaved patterns)

Nail varnish or make-up or tattoos

These situations are very rare but is a child persistently broke the rules surrounding uniform we would:

Ask them to change their shoes to a pair of school daps provided

Ask them to remove their make-up or nail varnish in school

Remove jewellery (which will be returned to the child at the end of the school day)
