The Governing Body
The governors work with the school to ensure that it delivers a good quality education. The Headteacher is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school and staff.
The Governors' main roles include:
- To provide strategic direction for the school
- To ensure accountability
- Determining how the school's budget is spent
- Setting A Statement of Principles on which the behaviour policy are based.
- Making sure school buildings are safe and secure
- Reviewing and monitoring the school's aims and policies, including collective worship
- Hearing appeals and grievances
The full governing body meets at least once each term to deal with all governor business with the exception of Pay and Appraisal for which we have a separate committee.
The board of governors consist of:
- 2 Parent Governors who are elected by other parents of the school
- 1 LA Governor appointed by the Local Authority (vacancy)
- 1 Headteacher in post as ex-officio
- 1 Staff Governor elected by staff
- 2 Co-opted Governors appointed by the Full Governing Body (1 vacancy)
- 9 Foundation Governors appointed by the Diocese (4 vacancies)
